GOOD COMPUTER: Broken SD module

started messing with this SD card module. seems it’s not properly SPI compliant, as it’s driving CIPO low even when not selected. I think I found the bug; the buffer on that line has its enable pin tied to ground, so it never stops. gonna try lifting it and tying it to CS instead

super pro environment lol

nothing to it. just gotta use these enormous ham hands to lift pin 13 (4/OE) of U1 and connect it to pin 9 (3A) with a trace. no big deal at all ⚡

because I have no skills and no proper tools and no space to move, I’m lifting half the chip with an iron, then will try lift the single pin, and put the whole lot back down. unlikely to work but eh, it’s a cheap part that wasn’t working properly anyway

broke three pins. they’re so fine! oh well, shopping time

all the cheap ones seem to be based on the same sketchy design (as much as you can tell from thumbnails on store sites anyway). @adafruit and @sparkfun both have different designs and look good from the schematics. @lbhq have them locally, so round 2 soon! https://littlebird.com.au/products/sparkfun-level-shifting-microsd-breakout
